British shoemaker Solovair has teamed up with Scandinavian lifestyle brand Wood Wood to update Solvair’s Gibson Hi-Shine shoe. As Solovair has been around for over 130 years, the collaboration between the two entities makes it a heritage-focused offering.
The updated silhouette features a Goodyear welted construction, which fuses the soft classic sole to the hi-shine upper via the leather and synthetic lining. The shoe’s heel features the Wood Wood initials enclosed by a diamond shape, for subtle detailing that’s a nod to Wood Wood’s iconography. The collaborative shoe comes in navy, burgundy and green, with each colorway featuring a dark gum sole. The shoes’ leather insoles showcase the Solovair logo, Wood Wood initial logo, the union jack and where the shoes were constructed in gold metallic lettering.
The new collaboration between Solovair and Wood Wood continues the Scandinavian brand’s commitment to partnerships to help tell its stories. Since its 2002 founding, Wood Wood has partnered with over 50 brands, which include Nike, Barbour, LEGO, Disney, Elmgren & Dragset, So-Me and more.
Solovair for Wood Wood will be available Friday, October 1 exclusively at Wood Wood stores and on the brand’s website.
