Wrist Check: Prototype Titanium Rolex Yacht-Master Spotted on Ben Ainslie
Will Rolex actually offer a titanium version to the masses?
A new Rolex watch may have flown under the radar for fans of the luxury watch brand. The watch in question is a prototype titanium version of the 42mm Yacht-Master that was spotted on the wrist of Olympic sailing champion Ben Ainslie.
This rugged version of Rolex’s sailing wristwatch puts emphasis on the model’s use as a tool watch with the removal of a date window, and the use of a velcro NATO strap. Known for its lightweight and hypoallergenic properties, titanium seems to be a great choice outside of the realm of precious metals for the Yacht-Master — the darker look of the case along with the black bezel and matte dial makes for one of the stealthiest looking Rolex watches produced by the brand.
This watch is purely a prototype, so there’s no guarantee that Rolex will even be adding this to its lineup, but we have a feeling that fans would not be mad if this watch became a reality.
