Andrew Garfield Says His Leaked 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' Set Photos Are Fake
Could the image really be Photoshopped?
During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote his upcoming film, The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Andrew Garfield once again had to address rumors that he will be appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Earlier this month American-British actor reiterated that he won’t be part of the Sony Pictures project, but a photo showing Garfield and fellow former Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire, on set hit the Internet a few weeks back.
Appearing virtually, Andrew Garfield received congratulations for his “cameo” from Jimmy Fallon, who referenced the leaked set photo that was quickly removed by the studio. The actor responded, “wait, what?!… I had no idea… what are you talking about?” Going on to claim that the image was Photoshopped and asking Fallon to show him the “evidence.” Responding with, “oh, how convenient Detective Fallon!,” after Fallon noted that the photo in question has since been erased from the Internet.
Andrew Garfield then leaned back on how he has been denying the rumor that has been endearingly dubbed “the worst kept secret in Hollywood.” “I heard about [the photo], and I did see it, and it’s a Photoshop. I’m trying to manage expectations… Look, if they want to give me a call at this late, late stage in the game, you know, I’m just sitting here in my tracksuit.”
