Wayne Gretzky’s Debut NFT Collection Sells Out in Minutes
Proving that the hockey legend still makes waves both on and off the rink.
Wayne Gretzky, known to be a Canadian hockey legend, has proved to be just as big in the NFT world. The NHL icon’s debut digital collection sold out within minutes, with its next drop expected to hit the markets again by the end of the week
Gretzky’s Premier Edition collectibles first came out earlier this week on DraftKings Marketplace in partnership with Autograph. The Signature editions are set to drop on August 20 with waiting rooms for every drop opening 30 minutes prior so that customers can queue to access the drops. The first waiting rooms will start on the specified date at 2:30 p.m. EST before the 3 p.m. drops on the day.
“I’m thrilled to get into the NFT space with Autograph and expand into Canada, having fans engage with great moments from my hockey career in new, revolutionary ways,” Gretzky said in a statement in regards to launching with DraftKings. “I’ve been committed to sharing and developing the game further for all hockey fans, and I’m proud to work and advise with Autograph, making the space more accessible and streamlined for new and longtime collectors.”
