Taking the fight to AMD and NVIDIA‘s doorstep, Intel has now announced its Arc division, the tech giant’s very own line of premium GPUs.

Designed with gamers at heart, Intel Arc will begin launching its graphics cards in the first quarter of 2022, introducing the first generation of GPUs codenamed “Alchemist” for both desktops and laptops. Based on Xe-HPG microarchitecture, the Alchemist lineup will support hardware-based ray tracing, Direct12 X Ultimate, variable rate shading, mesh shading, as well as what it calls “artificial intelligence-driven super sampling.”

Following from then, Intel Arc will move onto other major releases, which they’ve also codenamed “Battlemage,” “Celestial” and “Druid.” To tease what’s in store for gamers, the company also dropped a short teaser trailer featuring numerous AAA titles running on its technology, including the notoriously graphics-demanding Crysis Remastered Trilogy.

Elsewhere in tech, Walmart is looking to hire a crypto expert.
