Dwayne Wade's Childhood is Front and Center on The Birthday-Inspired Li-Ning Way of Wade 9 Infinity "Moment"
The high-tech shoe even fetures photos of a young Wade on its hangtag and midsole.
Dwayne Wade and Li-Ning‘s Way of Wade line has released a new take on the Way of Wade 9 Infinity dubbed “Moment.” A childhood birthday party in footwear form, the “Moment” combines playful, childlike detailing and bright colors with some of Li-Ning’s most advanced tech, making for a shoe that may be whimsical in look but is utterly serious in its performance.
The shoe’s high-cut, shroud-like upper is dressed in black and covered from heel to collar to toe in colorful shapes and squiggles, while birthday-centric messages like “Light the Candles,” “Make a Wish” and “Happy Birthday my man!!! Flash” appear on the shoe’s key pieces like the heel window and midfoot support bridge. A childhood photo of Wade adorns the hangtag and aforementioned heel window. Outsoles get in on the action too, with glow-in-the-dark detailing inspired by blowing out the candles on your birthday cake. A Wade hit towards the forefoot and special insole prints complete the look
From a performance standpoint, the “Moment” features a laceless construction with a BOA system providing a customizable fit. Responsiveness is provided by the midfoot’s shock-absorbing, energy-returning Jiang plate. A drop-in BOOM foam cushioning setup in the insoles serves up both pillowy comfort and exemplary court feel, inspired by Wade’s athletic-yet-tough style of play.
