Y-3 Wants You To Disappear With Its FW21 Collection
Elevating Y-3’s functional designs with new stylistic elements.
For the first chapter of its Fall/Winter 2021 collection, Y-3 journeys from the city and into nature. The collection reimagines Y-3’s typical sporting aesthetics, elevating the functional designs with new stylistic elements.
Modeled after the concept “disappear,” the first chapter explores camouflage prints and modern outdoor wear. Nature embraces activewear and is ready for all climates, elevated by Yohji Yamamoto’s avant-garde cadence. The collection is comprised of knitwear, hoodies, pants and jackets. Additionally, the pieces have been fused with functional blocking and ergonomic patterning. Colors blend right into nature’s terrain, featuring dusty shades of green, black, grey, rust and a technical shade of blue. Chapter 1 also contains a number of accessories including caps, beanies, cordura bags and a new version of the Y-3 tote.
The collection also showcases updated footwear silhouettes of traditional Y-3 styles. The styles include the RUNNER 4D IOW, NOTOMA, ORISAN, KAIWA, SHIKU RUN, HICHO and more. The footwear selections come in a black and white colorway in addition to shadow green and semi-frozen yellow selections.
Continuing the grain of digital exploration, the Chapter 1 campaign transports viewers to an alternate digital reality. The collection is showcased by models who have been 3D scanned and placed into a virtual forest.
Chapter 1 of Y-3’s Fall/Winter 2021 collection is available globally at adidas.com/y-3, in store and through select retailers.
