Song for the Mute is back for its Fall/Winter 2021 collection, this time playing on the idea of intrigue and curiosity. This season sees the creative direction take influences from some of the ’80s and ’90s most iconic horror films from Evil Dead and Beetlejuice to E.T. and Dracula.

The collection is inspired by the feeling that unsettling and off-putting scenes can often also be what lures audiences and invites them into a crazy, imaginative world. With this particular season, Song for the Mute takes fans on a chaotic journey that sees the harmony of opposites come together for the right balance.

Song for the Mute FW21 lookbook focuses on a relaxed silhouette that features a slew of overlaying contrasts to give the outfits more depth and dimension. Paint splattered monochrome pants are paired with an orange-gray striped button-down, layered on top of a speckled vest, offsetting the dark motifs of the outfit. A tattered mustard-yellow, oversized cardigan stays true to the loose-fitting silhouettes of the collection. Oversized pants appear as a canvas for an artist’s abstract paint strokes and distressed sweaters featuring watercolor metaphysical faces highlight the collection.
