McDonald's Global Sales Soar 40% Following BTS Collaboration
The BTS ARMY came out in full force.

McDonald’s same-store sales figures have increased a whopping 40.5 percent in Q2 compared to the same time last year which is 6.9 percent higher than the pre-COVID era of Q2 2019.
While many factors contributed to the sales increase such as the new Crispy Chicken Sandwiches, competitive pricing, and looser pandemic restrictions, BTS has undoubtedly played an integral role. McDonald’s Korea revealed a 250 percent increase in Chicken McNuggets sales in the four weeks following the BTS meal launch.
Despite staffing challenges, Reuters reported that “global sales and profit for McDonald’s Corp (MCD.N) surged past Wall Street targets on Wednesday as restaurants reopened despite staffing shortages and consumers lapped up a wildly popular celebrity meal inspired by South Korean pop band BTS.”
Continuing the chain of Mcdonald’s celebrity collaborations which have tapped J Balvin and Travis Scott, Saweetie is slated to replace BTS on August 9 with a brand new set of limited-time meals.
