Maison Margiela Drops the Nylon Runner in Fall-Ready "Black/White/Gum"
Yours for $627 USD.
When Maison Margiela released the Nylon Runner in “White/Gum,” HYPEBEAST was quick to ask whether it was the cleanest summer sneaker around. Clearly, Margiela took notes, as the silhouette has just arrived on HBX decked in “Black/White/Gum” for the fall months that are upon us.
Like the previous pair, the Nylon Runner seen above features a multi-paneled, multi-textured upper that comprises nylon and suede panels alongside hits of leather for a luxurious, practical look. It’s as if the nylon makes up the shoe’s base and suede has been added on top in Margiela’s usual avant-garde, somewhat deconstructed way, as the suede around the toe panel reveals the raw nylon beneath when you look towards the edges.
The same can be said for the foam that peeps out from the nylon layers on areas such as the eyestay placket, which plays host to securing the waxed black cotton laces in place. Other luxurious touches include the single-stitched white leather heel tabs, the Maison Margiela branded tongue tab, and the leather insoles. Rounding out the pair is a clean white, black, and grooved gum outsole sole unit.
So, is the “Black/White/Gum” iteration the cleanest fall-ready sneaker, or has Margiela already played this look out too much? We’ll let you decide — head over to HBX to pick up a pair for yourself for $627 USD.
