Casio Partners With 'Pac-Man' for Retro-Looking Digital Watch
Paying homage to 40 years of ‘Pac-Man.’
Casio is reliving the nostalgic days of classic arcade games by partnering with Namco‘s iconic ’80s pastime, Pac-Man.
Everyone’s favorite ghost-chasing chomp monster has teamed up with the electronics watchmaker Casio to bring a vintage-looking digital watch, the A100WEPC. The new retro model is based on Casio’s classic F-10 digital watch which was first released back in 1978. At the time, the watch was the first quartz model that featured calendar capabilities and a resin case.
The watch features the classic F-100 four front buttons as well as the “illuminator” logo seen on the front. The watch’s colours depicted reflect Pac-Man’s four ghosts and the arcade game’s quintessential dot maze layout. The straps add an additional nod to the game, as it features the Pac-Man chasing ghosts on the lower band and Pac-Man being chased by ghosts on the lower band.
Starting August 21, Pac-Man and Casio fans will get to purchase the watch for approximately $110 USD on Casio Watches.
Elsewhere in watches, G-SHOCK has unveiled its first-ever MOVE models with square case.
