2021 'Celebration of Mac Miller' Announced at Blue Slide Park
The annual event held in the late artist’s memory returns for its third year.
Details of the third annual Celebration of Mac Miller have been announced.
The Mac Miller Memoir took to Twitter to reveal that the annual celebration is set to take place on September 10 at Blue Slide Park, Pittsburgh and that the team has been in communication with the city and Miller’s family in regards to the event. “It was an important decision made with Mac’s family that we chose a new date dedicated to celebrating his life and legacy,” the statement read, explaining why they moved it from September 7. “After being apart from the Machead community during 2020, we can’t wait to see all of the new and familiar faces again this year.”
In September 2018, fans gathered in Blue Slide Park to commemorate his legacy. Present were fans and family mebers of the late rapper; Miller’s grandmother even spoke during the vigil. Fans returned in 2019 for the Celebration of Mac Miller but its 2020 iteration was cancelled due to COVID-19.
