Nike and Converse Debut 'Space Jam: A New Legacy' Merch Collection
Highlighting the Nike Lebron 18 Low and Converse’s Lola Bunny Pro Leather.
Stacking on Warner Bros. merchandise campaign for the release of the highly-anticipated Space Jam: A New Legacy film, a collection of footwear and apparel care of Nike and Converse has just hit the internet.
The collaboration is a nod to the essence of fun in sports as it’s “integral in finding your potential because potential is all about possibility.” Under Nike’s wing, two versions of LeBron-branded Dri-FIT uniforms featuring Tune Squad and Goon Squad along with a varsity jacket fill up the roster. Converse’s apparel lines up an all-black range of graphic T-shirts, shorts and hoodies assembling the Looney Tunes characters.
Highlighting the collection is Nike’s footwear selection starting off with a three-style series of the LeBron 18 Low in a split color design portraying iconic faceoffs such as Bugs vs. Marvin the Martian, Tweety Bird vs. Sylvester and Road Runner vs. Wile. E. Coyote. An Air Force 1 spotlighting a host of characters and a Bugs Lebron 18 join the mix.
Converse also whipped up its own Looney Tunes footwear variety using their celebrated silhouettes such as the all-white Lola Bunny Pro Leather with a fur Star Chevron logo, an embroidered Lola graphic on the heel and pink mesh lining.
The new LeBron 19 will make an appearance in the film which flaunts a double-chambered Air Max unit in the heel and a newly shaped Zoom Air forefoot unit.
“In designing the LeBron 19, we were definitely guided by what was happening in the film,” says Nike Basketball footwear designer Jason Petrie. “We wanted to give LeBron a brand-new feeling that was synonymous with an otherworldly, space-age kind of look.”
The Nike apparel prices range from $90 to $200 USD, with footwear ranging from $85 to $200 USD which includes both toddler and adult sizes. On the other side of the court, Converse’s apparel retails from $50 to $95 USD while footwear goes from $70 to $120 USD.
The Space Jam: A New Legacy collection is set to release in July on Nike.com and select retailers, with the movie to premiere on July 16 nationwide.
