Once a killer, always a killer, they say.

Showtime‘s latest trailer for the upcoming revival of its cult series Dexter shows the character in a new setting with the same lust for blood.

The show left off in 2013 with murderer Dexter Morgan, played by Michael C. Hall, exiled in the woods as a lumberjack. Previous teasers and trailers for the new season hinted at the character’s return to his nature.

The new trailer, released on Wednesday, shows the character living in a quiet town, having assumed the name Jim Lindsay. The trailer introduces various town locals that have befriended Dexter, seemingly without knowledge of his past. But as the titular character passes by a knife shop, viewers get an eerie sense that despite his new surroundings, Dexter has retained his killer instincts.

All past seasons of Dexter are now available to stream on Showtime, so you can catch up on the madness before it comes to crescendo this fall. No official release date has been announced yet, but production for the limited series began in January.

Clyde Phillips will once again serve as showrunner for the series, which takes place after the season 8 finale. Showtime has been tightlipped about whether any of the show’s regulars will be returning, but The Mandalorian‘s Julia Jones is slated to play Angela Bishop, the Chief of Police in her upstate New York town. Alano Miller, Johnny Sequoyah and Jack Alcott have also been announced as the supporting cast.

Check out the other trailers for the limited series for more hints at what’s to come in the final season.
