“Mystic Mac” strikes once again.
Shortly after Conor McGregor was named the highest-paid athlete on Forbes 2021 list, the MMA superstar’s TheMacLife sports media platform reposted a clip of McGregor predicted his rise to the top.
All the way back in 2016, soccer icon Cristiano Ronaldo visited McGregor’s fight camp in Las Vegas and discussed their Forbes rankings. Aside from discussing his dreams of having a private jet, McGregor told Ronaldo that he would overtake him for the number one spot, a major leap from his high 30s place in 2016. Known as “Mystic Mac” in the fight world for accurately predicting his early victories in the UFC, the Irish fighter’s ambitious prediction has now come true.
Topping the 2021 Forbes list, earning a total of $180 million USD over the last 12 months, overtaking Lionel Messi and Ronaldo, respectively earning $130 million USD and $120 million USD for the number two and three spots on the list.
