Taco Bell Now Testing Plant-Based Protein "Cravetarian Taco"
Moving towards an inclusive menu.
Continuing to add to its menu options, Taco Bell is now testing a plant-based protein “Cravetarian Taco.”
Part of the fast-food chain’s move towards a more inclusive menu, the new development is essentially a meat-free take on the classic Crunchy Taco Supreme. The taco features a seasoned plant-based protein made from a blend of peas and chickpeas, topped with shredded cheddar cheese, crisp lettuce, diced tomatoes, and reduced-fat sour cream. As usual, the flavorful fillings are held by a crispy corn tortilla shell.
The Cravetarian Taco is currently being tested at only one Taco Bell location in California and is expected to roll out later this year.
