The story of Jim Henson‘s remarkable life and career will be making it to the big screens. The Muppets creator’s daughter Lisa Henson will be producing the film under Disney and the Jim Henson Company.
Muppet Man will be the title of the biopic and it’s now found a writer to pen the script — playwright and screenwriter Michael Mitnic. According to sources, the film will focus “on Henson’s journey to convince broadcasters that The Muppets was a great idea and how he worked to get the characters on air where they became a comedy staple.”
No one can deny the legacy Henson left behind with the Muppets. Since his death and having his show’s rights bought by Disney in 2004, the company has been making almost every episode available on its platforms, including Disney+, alongside feature-length movies.
In case you missed it, Disney+ is bringing back the original cast for its upcoming Mighty Ducks reboot.
