Viral Tweet About Fyre Festival Cheese Sandwich Being Sold as NFT
“…literally bread, cheese, and salad with dressing.”
The viral tweet of photographer and Fyre Festival attendee Trevor DeHaas about the supposedly-glamorous event’s not-so-glamorous cheese sandwich is now being sold as an NFT.
The infamous 2017 tweet is being auctioned off via Ja Rule‘s NFT platform Flipkick, where the co-organizer also sold a Fyre Fest NFT painting for a whopping $122,000 USD. The winner of the auction will be given the original tweet and transfer of copyright ownership so they can monetize the IP. Its proceeds will be used for DeHaas’ medical expenses from his daily dialysis plus kidney transplant when he is able to receive one.
DeHaas’ original tweet is still available on the platform as of writing and shows a sad image of two limp white slices of cheese on plain wheat bread. “The dinner that @fyrefestival promised us was catered by Steven Starr is literally bread, cheese, and salad with dressing,” the photographer wrote.
Take a look at DeHaas’ tweet below and bid on the NFT on the official Flipkick website. The auction ends on April 24.
