ASICS Adds Two Eco-Friendly Styles to Its Upcoming “Earth Day Pack”
Featuring the epochal GEL-LYTE III.
After unveiling its eco-friendly TARTHER™ BLAST earlier this week, ASICS now adds two more planet-friendly styles to its upcoming “Earth Day Pack”.
Slated as the brand’s “most planet-friendly cross-category collection to date”, this upcoming capsule — that’s set to receive more additions in the coming days — has been created using an approach that saw around five tons of textile waste recycled into new shoes, two of which include the GEL-LYTE III OG and the SKYCOURT.
The former sees its retro textile upper reworked with recycled materials and eco-leather overlays, while its neutral hues means it requires less water, inks and dyes for its coloring process.
The SKYCOURT — which also arrives in a creamy neutral colorway — borrows design influences from the brand’s indoor court offerings of the ‘80s and ‘90s, but is made with recycled materials and a sockliner produced with a solution dyeing process that reduces carbon emissions and water usage.
The GEL-LYTE III OG EARTH DAY is set to drop on April 23 and retail at $110 USD, while the
SKYCOURT lands on April 20 costing just $85 USD, both of which will be available from the ASICS webstore.
In other news, Carl’s Jr. and Beyond Meat have geared up for Earth Day with a new eco-friendly burger.
