Sean Wotherspoon‘s adidas Originals ZX 8000 SUPEREARTH has been teased and touted for a release for months now, following news that came in February that the “A-ZX Series” sneaker would be dropping in March. Alas, this release never came — but fear not, as the shoe is about to hit stores and stockists very soon.

As you’re probably already well-aware of, the SUPEREARTH falls under adidas Originals’ sustainable push and features a heavy mix of materials that comes together for a patchwork, quilt-like upper. Textured cotton fabrics hitting the toe box, mid-panel and Three Stripes to tartan check prints and the bold use of embroidery all appear on the sneaker, with the latter showing its frayed aesthetic draping from the floral design and onto the ground.

SUPEREARTH and SW branding appears on the tongue and heel respectively, while adidas’ moniker has been added to the toe box in the form of a tag to switch things up even more so — and, of course, all over the medial side as multicolored Trefoil logos. More unique details are showcased in the clear TPU heel cage that shows a mixed variety of threads stuck inside the clip, while components such as the sole unit have been finished in “Off White” to give the shoe some space to breathe.

The Wotherspoon-designed adidas Originals ZX 8000 SUPEREARTH is finally releasing on April 16 through adidas’ CONFIRMED App and at select stockists worldwide, costing £110 GBP per pair (approx. $151 USD). Take a closer look at the anticipated sneaker above.

In case you missed it, check out this week’s installment of Sole Mates. This time around, Joe La Puma tells HYPEBEAST about his love for the Air Jordan 4.
