Versace Introduces a New Monogram for FW21
The updated ‘La Greca’ print is the backbone of the new collection.
Utilising geometric patterns, clean lines and a vibrant color palette, Versace Fall/Winter 2021 is as dynamic as it is immersive. Reinventing its archetypal Greca motif, the Italian fashion house enters a new era this season, by letting its updated La Greca pattern take centre stage.
Informed by power and self-confidence, tailoring boasts the new pattern in various different ways. From all-over jacquard suits to rubber patches on the chest, cuts have been refined and crafted with fabrics like vinyl and more subtle matte wool.
A graffiti Medusa smiley is also making its debut this season, a graphic that’s said to “champion the brand’s sense of humor and rebellious character”. Fenced off by La Greca bordering, the smiley appears on various pieces of men’s outerwear, as well as on women’s shirting.
Modular bags also boast the new pattern and can be personalized to one’s taste with clip-on accessories, while a 3D take on the Greca appears on smaller items, like jewelry, hair pins and bold belt buckles.
