The Weeknd is the newest musical artist to hop on the NFT craze as he teased the release of a brand new song as a non-fungible token.

The XO Records founder took to social media to announce the news, although he kept the track title and release date under wraps. “[N]ew song living in NFT space. coming soon…” he wrote, further clarifying in separate tweets that the song will still be part of his After Hours era. He added, “[P.S.] this chapter isn’t quite done yet …” and “still tying some loose ends.”

It’s been a year since The Weeknd released his revered fourth studio album, which was recently certified as a double platinum record by the RIAA. The organization also confirmed that the After Hours tracks “Heartless” and “Blinding Lights” are now double-platinum and 7x platinum singles, with the latter making history as the first song to ever spend a whole year in the Billboard Hot 100’s top 10.

Stay tuned for more info.

Elsewhere in music, Bhad Bhabie is selling her “Cash Me Outside” meme as an NFT for her 18th birthday.
