Comfort is paramount when cycling. While all the technology in the world might make you faster and more streamline, if you aren’t comfortable, your fun isn’t going to last long. However, in a bid to craft on-bike footwear that offers both speed and comfort in abundance, Specialized has introduced its all-new S-Works Ares.

As suitable for high-speed races or easy summer excursions, this new lightweight shoe finds the balance between power and all-day comfort, with a unique patent-pending closure architecture that spreads the pressure across the whole foot and a sock-like upper for the perfect fit.

Retaining the same Body Geometry features, carbon outsole and heel counter as its S-Works 7 predecessor, the S-Works Ares is said to be 1% faster than any other shoe Specialized has ever made. Through this combination of lightweight technology and the stiffest carbon outsole to-date, the brand not only ensures every bit of energy becomes acceleration, but that you’re comfy while it’s happening too.

Arriving in either black, white, red or “Team White”, the S-Works Ares are available to buy now from the Specialized webstore, retailing at $425 USD.

In other news, adidas has transformed its Samba sneaker into a sleek city cycling silhouette.
