Shinola Goes Full Color to Celebrate Silly Putty Anniversary
The dial has been color-matched to the original shade of Silly Putty.
Detroit-based watch and accessories brand Shinola is celebrating the 71st anniversary of another American institution, Silly Putty.
Wrapping a cherry red resin case around a stainless steel core, the Shinola Silly Putty Detrola also features a sandblasted dial, color-matched to the original shade of the plaything while a contrasting aqua silicone strap makes sure no-one will miss this on your wrist.
The watch, powered by a Shinola Argonite 705 quartz movement, also comes with a classic red egg of Silly Putty to help bring out your inner child.
“Detrola is our most expressive, colorful watch collection to date, with an appreciation for the past and an eye towards the future,” says Shannon Washburn, CEO of Shinola. “Silly Putty is such a fun, iconic American product; a level of ‘iconic’ that we aspire to be.”
The Detrola collection is Shinola’s most colourful grouping of watches designed with collaborations in mind, with limited editions dropping every 6-8 weeks.
The Shinola Silly Putty Detrola is available now via Shinola priced $395 USD.
