Omega Drops Covert All-Black Ceramic Seamaster Diver 300M Black Black
The details on its ceramic dial and bezel are sculpted using laser ablation.

There are two possible motivations behind Omega’s new Seamaster Diver 300M Black Black; either Omega has quite sensibly arrived at the conclusion that dial color contrasts don’t offer any benefit when diving beyond a modest depth or, more likely, they are as aware as any of us that diving watches don’t always get wet.
As the name suggests Omega has given its Diver 300M a contemporary, all-black makeover forming its 43.5mm case, crown, helium escape valve and pin buckle from black ceramic with a mixture of polished and brushed surfaces and has secured the watch using a matching black rubber strap.
Omega instead relies on its luminous material for contrast, introducing a new dark grey anthracite shade of Super-LumiNova for its diving scale, indices, hands and dot at the 12 o’clock position that blends in with the overall aesthetic during daylight hours while glowing in different colors during low-light conditions.
The watch’s black ceramic dial has been formed from a blank using laser ablation to etch away its wave pattern, minute track, wording and the Omega symbol in positive relief. A sapphire crystal exhibition caseback offers a view of the watch’s 3.5Hz Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806 automatic movement which offers 55 hours of power reserve and enough resistance to magnetism to withstand 15,000 gauss, equivalent to the output of an operational MRI machine.
The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Black Black is available now via Omega, priced $8,650 USD.
