Yu Nagaba and LESS Taiwan Honor 'Roman Holiday' in Playful Lunar New Year Capsule
Drawing equal influence from the Audrey Hepburn classic and skaters.
Yu Nagaba‘s playful illustrations often riff on pop culture and the artist’s latest work is no different. Working alongside LESS Taiwan, Nagaba has created a series of playful illustrations that draw equally from Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck’s Roman Holiday and the silhouettes of skater boys on the go.
The resulting illustrations of skating and Vespa riders are emblazoned atop a series of monochrome layering pieces and accessories, emphasizing Nagaba’s clean lines and minimalist shapes over fancy flourishes. Alongside a skate deck chair, clock, small rug, slide sandals, mug, hat and T-shirt — all, except the mug, available in white or black — LESS has imagined a few more advanced layering pieces. These include a relaxed tan coaches jacket and a set of baggy buttoned shirts finished with internal straps that can be slung over the wearer’s shoulder to create more dynamic layers.
