WTAPS and Champion Come Together For Collaborative Range of Neutral Basics
Based off of WTAPS’ BLANKS line of hoodies, tees, and crewnecks.
WTAPS has been rather patient in terms of making noise within the early weeks of 2021, but the Tokyo-based entity is ready to start proffering up more items to the globe. This newest initiative is being produced alongside widely-heralded athletic company Champion, and entails a concise-but-cozy range of neutral basics.
Inspiration for this collaboration is predicated upon Tetsu Nishiyama‘s BLANKS apparel line, which essentially an assortment of minimally-branded items designed for everyday wear. The silhouettes are boxy in fit, feature a slightly wider-trimmed collar, and arrive heavier in weight compared to the the average basic tee — which is better for the long run as they will be harder to shrink and/or wear down over time.
Lined up in the collection are hooded sweatshirts, crewnecks and tees that come in both long an short-sleeved variations. Each style comes in a set of muted neutral colorways including “Grey”, “Navy”, and “Olive Drab”. The pieces are decorated with co-branded patches and interior tags to nod to the partnership.
Prices for the silhouettes are as follows: ¥8,000 (approx. $76 USD) for the short-sleeved tees, ¥10,000 (approx. $95 USD) for the long-sleeved tees, ¥20,000 (approx. $190 USD) for the crewnecks, and ¥22,000 (approx. $210 USD) for the hoodies.
Interested parties can cop these starting on February 20, 2021 via WTAPS and Champion.
