BAPE Taps Kid Cudi for Largest Artist Collab Yet
The Moon Man is imagined with vibrant graphics and space-age camo.
BAPE has signed on Kid Cudi for a vibrant capsule displaying colorful prints and logos. Spanning a total of 20 pieces, this project is BAPE’s largest-ever artist collaboration — the result of a long relationship that goes all the way back to when Cudi was still working at the BAPE store in New York.
There’s a handful of distinctive prints featured in the collection, like graphics of Kid Cudi in the form of BABY MILO, a special camo print called “ENTERGALACTIC,” Shark and Tiger motifs, CUDI STA, APE FACE STA and “Moonman” graphics. One noteworthy piece is a zip-up Shark hoodie emblazoned with a bright camo pattern depicting space. A graphic of Cudi in a spacesuit is placed on the back of the hood, adjacent to the piece’s shark motif, while small BAPE logos at the sleeves complete the piece’s design. The same camo print is seen on a graphic T-shirt emboldened with a print of “MOON MAN,” sweatpants and a cardigan that features a large animated portrait of Cudi on the back. Other pieces like black leather varsity jackets, graphic hoodies, sweaters, caps and beanies round off the expansive collection.
BAPE and Kid Cudi’s 2021 capsule will be available on February 20 on BAPE’s website — prices have yet to be confirmed. The collection’s items are also available on GOAT.
