COMME des GARÇONS CDG Stamps Its Signature Branding on the Vans Old Skool
Repeating logo prints bolster the seminal skate silhouette’s midsole.
Bold and logo-driven, COMME des GARÇONS CDG has lent its signature branded motifs to a veritable plethora of collaborative products, and now it’s teamed up with Vans for a fresh take on the ever-popular Old Skool. Where previous COMME des GARÇONS x Vans models like the Lampin and Authentic used a white/black mix, the Old Skool flips the script, serving up a black/white style that seamlessly elevates a time-honored skate classic.
COMME des GARÇONS CDG’s collaborative products often let the original style speak for itself, so this Old Skool is completely unchanged on the top half. Black canvas and suede uppers with white contrast stitching, white Jazz Stripes and leather collar liners are all left intact — but down below the white rubber midsole adds a healthy dose of branding. Black CDG graphics run from the midfoot to the heel and stop abruptly at the textured toe bumper. Black foxing returns atop this repeating print, and the look is rounded off by traditional waffle outsoles.
The COMME des GARÇONS CDG x Vans Old Skool is set to release via the CDGCDGCDG webstore and select retailers come February 5. A retail price has yet to be announced.
