CD Projekt Red Hack Delays Next 'Cyberpunk 2077' Patch to March
Promising significant improvements in quality.
Unfortunately for those playing Cyberpunk 2077 or hoping to revisit the game after quality updates, CD Projekt Red has just announced that its Patch 1.2 is being delayed until March.
Taking to Twitter to announce the delay, the Polish game developer attributed much of the cause to the recent hacking of its source code earlier this month. “While we dearly wanted to deliver Patch 1.2 for Cyberpunk 2077 in the timespan we detailed previously, the recent cyberattack on the studio’s IT infrastructure and extensive scope of the update mean this, unfortunately, will not happen — we’ll need some additional time,” the studio says.
However, it also reassured fans that the upcoming patch will be worth the wait, bringing much more to the game compared to previous updates, including several overall quality improvements and fixes. Patch 1.2 is now scheduled to arrive sometime in the second half of March, so those playing the game should definitely be on the lookout for when it drops.
Our goal for Patch 1.2 goes beyond any of our previous updates. We’ve been working on numerous overall quality improvements and fixes, and we still have work to do to make sure that’s what you get. With that in mind, we’re now aiming for release in the second half of March. 2/3
