adidas Originals Channels Blondey on New See-Through Superstar
A style that’s transparent in build and inspiration alike.
adidas‘ Superstar is a solid shoe — both literally and figuratively. It’s survived the test of time, lasting over 50 years as one of adidas Originals‘ most popular silhouettes, and is usually made of sturdy leather that’s bolstered by a signature rubber toe cap. However, THAMES MMXX founder Blondey added a new twist to it in 2019 by collaborating on a see-through version, five colorways in total of which have since released. Now, the Three Stripes’ lifestyle division is tapping Blondey’s signature ethos for a “White/Grey/Cloud White” Superstar that borrows heavily from the aforementioned collaborations.
Familiar translucent TPU serves as the base material, with its see-through style overlaid by solid white leather Three Stripe graphics and heel tabs. These heel tabs boast a black Trefoil hit, and more black branding appears on the white leather tongue — itself which is surrounded by white leather eyestays. A gold foil “Superstar” hit appears on the medial midfoot, with white rubber toe caps, midsoles and outsole finalizing the look.
An undeniably apt style for those who like to wear colorful socks, this windowpane Superstar is available on the adidas UK webstore now for £80 GBP (approximately $111 USD).
