Joya Studio Brings a Multi-Sensory Experience to the World of Minions
A new candle collaboration offers elevated scents inspired by the ‘Despicable Me’ stars.
After being teased on Instagram earlier this week, Minions and Joya Studio have unveiled their upcoming collaboration. The chic New York-based design studio has teamed up with the Minions to release a new scented collection that transforms the Despicable Me characters into functioning candles, complete with porcelain vessels shaped like their signature overalls. This new partnership is part of an ongoing celebration for the upcoming movie Minions: The Rise of Gru movie with Illumination, the studio behind the Minions and Sing franchises, that features style-centric partnerships that showcase the universal and fun-loving nature of the characters.
The new product range reimagines the Minions as an olfactory experience for fans with a more minimal and refined taste, but still captures the spirited nature of these characters. Containing three candles, the collaboration is another exciting foray into homewares from the cheeky yellow characters. The Minions x Joya Studio collection includes “Inner Minion” scented candles that capture Bob the Minion in meditative poses with his legs in a full-split and his hands locked together in front of his body. With an upper portion made from burnable wax and a lower portion made from reusable porcelain, the collectible candle can be used and re-used in the home. The all-white color palette is another interesting twist on the signature yellow color of the Minions, marking another series that shows off how the characters have infiltrated the worlds of fashion and design.
