First Look at Rui Hachimura's Air Jordan 8 SE Collaboration
The pro hooper reworks the high-cut silhouette with “Twine” uppers and felt tongue logos.

Rui Hachimura has yet to play a single minute in the 2021-2022 NBA season due to personal reasons that caused him to miss training camp and the first week of regular season games. And despite his playing career being a little foggy at the moment, one thing that is for certain is that his footwear collaborations with Jordan Brand will be pushing forward with new styles soon. The latest to appear is the Rui Hachimura x Air Jordan 8 SE, which is a refreshing sight to see considering that most of the sneaker collaborations that Jordan Brand has supplied him with in years past have been more so geared towards performance.
Base layers are done up with a variety of materials from suede underlays to premium leather straps, the former of which is treated with a “Twine” hue while the latter is dialed to a slightly darker shade and comes marked with tonal distressed patterns. Additional striking features to call out include the felt tongue logos which swap out the traditional Jumpman for Hachimura’s personal logo, the black strap buckles and the tile-like patterns that adorn the tongues and collars which likely speak to the pro hooper’s Japanese heritage.
Moreover, the kicks come packaged in a special shoe box that features a cartoon-esque image of Hachimura going up for a slam dunk.
An exact release date is still unknown, but you can expect these to likely launch in the coming months for $225 USD.
