Guinean artist BaKaRi Bombo has released an all-new music video titled “Demon,” which tracks the Brooklyn-bred rapper on a journey of self reflection through the city. Directed by THIRDEYERAZ, BaKaRi embodies a visceral energy over drowned out drum kicks and 808s, channeling his new spirit as he travels through a space time continuum. BaKaRi is no stranger to traveling fast and often though, as he spent most of his childhood, in a military family, moving around from different states in the U.S. (Brooklyn, Chicago, Texas, Ohio) to back and fourth between there and living with his family in his native land of Guinée, Conakry in West Africa.
Making his return from an almost year long hiatus from music as a buzzing artist who’s seen a lot already in his journey, from moving often to suffering tragic loss early in life, BaKaRi seems poised to quiet the noise and say his piece now. Taking to Los Angeles to pursue music seriously last year, BaKaRi trusts his own instincts with this latest single “Demon,” and hints at a forthcoming project in the works too. “‘Demon’ was recorded at a time where I was still finding myself but once that remorseless confidence kicked in, I attacked the mic fearlessly,” says BaKaRi. “Moving like a demon is a reflection of my hustle and perseverance — By any means necessary.”
