The First Official 'Uncharted' Trailer Is Finally Here
Starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg.
PlayStation has unveiled the first-ever, official trailer for Uncharted, the upcoming live-action movie based on the popular video game of the same moniker.
The action-adventure film, directed by Ruben Fleischer, follows the young-yet-wise Nathan Frake (Tom Holland) on a treasure hunt with his partner Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg). The globe-trotting duo spans the world in a dangerous pursuit to uncover “the greatest treasure never found” while also discovering clues that may help Nathan find his long-lost brother.
Alongside Holland and Wahlberg, the film stars Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle and Antonio Banderas. The screenplay was written by Rafe Judkins, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway.
The film adaptation of Uncharted was first announced in 2008 and has since been rebooted with several different directors. After Travis Knight left the project in December 2019 due to scheduling conflicts with Holland, Fleischer, who is best known for Zombieland and Venom, was placed at the helm of the movie.
Fleischer said that he “made the movie for both hardcore fans of the game and those who are not yet familiar with the franchise and believe that both will be equally entertained by this incredibly fun and action-packed film,” according to a PlayStation blog post.
