UK Brand Accelerator Tomorrow Acquires Majority Stake in Martine Rose
The London-based menswear brand will also receive an undisclosed stake in the Tomorrow business.
U.K. brand accelerator Tomorrow has acquired a majority stake in London-based menswear line Martine Rose. As part of the deal, Tomorrow will now act as a collaborator and global licensing partner for Martine Rose, while Rose will receive an undisclosed stake in the Tomorrow business.
Martine Rose, of Jamaican and English heritage, established her eponymous brand in 2007. “Her innate authenticity and commitment to modernity have helped to create collections that retain their underground cult credentials while achieving global success,” her website reads. Rose has been nominated for several awards, including the British Fashion Council’s British Menswear Designer of the Year, the Urban Lux Award, the LVMH prize and the ANDAM award for emerging designers.
“I’m incredibly proud and excited to work with Stefano, Giancarlo and the team at Tomorrow to help me deliver on my ideas and scale my business,” Rose said. “I have huge respect for what Tomorrow stands for and am excited for what the future will bring.”
The investment into Martine Rose represents Tomorrow’s ambitions “to build a portfolio of brands led by creative polymaths with a focus on authenticity, creativity, and community,” the brand accelerator said in a press release.
