BUNNEY and Martine Rose have joined forces on “The Bottle Top,” a capsule of jewelry and drinking accessories built around the humble beer cap. The project looks at the pub, the local club and the community hall as places where people come together, and it takes its design language from the small objects that change hands across the bar in those rooms.
The bottle cap’s crimped edge anchors nearly every piece, appearing again and again as the collection’s signature motif. A sterling silver badge and a matching pair of earrings present the cap on its own, while the necklace and bracelet pair it with an opener and come in either 925 sterling silver or 18ct yellow gold. The signet ring offers the widest range of options: solid sterling silver, solid 18ct yellow gold or a two-tone build that combines the two metals.
Beyond the jewelry, the lineup extends to the objects that frame a night out. A sterling silver bottle opener turns a junk-drawer tool into something worth keeping in a pocket, and a glass tankard brings back the dimpled pint mug familiar from decades of bar shelves. Both pieces keep their original silhouettes intact, so the recognition is instant even as the materials shift.
Production stays close to home, with everything made in the UK by hand using traditional techniques. That fits BUNNEY’s long-standing approach, as the label partners with workshops across England to craft and finish each item by hand. Here, that level of attention lands on a cap that most people flick into the bin without a second glance.
The idea driving the capsule is a shift in value: a throwaway object becomes something to hold onto, and the rituals of a round at the pub become the stuff of keepsakes. It suits Martine Rose, whose menswear has long drawn on subcultural references and the codes of ordinary life, while BUNNEY supplies the precious metal and the permanence to make those references last.
“The Bottle Top” collection arrives in October via BUNNEY, Martine Rose, and select stockists.
