adidas‘ skateboarding sub-label is home to some of the biggest names in the sport, one of which is legendary skater Mark Gonzales. Following up on his roll out of his “Halsil/White” Aloha Super colorway that launched in February 2021, he’s reunited with adidas to generate a stealthy take of the adidas Skateboarding x Superstar ADV.

For this newest offering, Gonzales takes a minimalistic-yet-effective approach. The premium leather uppers, tongues and signature shell toes are all covered in black and the stripes have been reformatted with the single file dotted aesthetic that is most commonly associated with the Stan Smith. The usual Trefoil logo on the shoe’s heels has been discarded in this instance, and the tongues bear a debossed adidas insignia. Additionally, Gonzales’ signature “Schmoo” birds arrives in patchy fashion across the upper, all of which feature pops of colors such as a neon green, red and purple. Sole pieces down below continue the darker-toned theme by also arriving with an all-black appearance.

In case you were planning on copping a pair, these will be available starting on October 9 via adidas and other retailers. Retail price is set at $100 USD.
