Li-Ning’s FW21 Collection Wants You to Channel Your Inner Olympian
Featuring athletic wear, tailoring and a range of footwear.
For the Fall/Winter 2021 season, Li-Ning looks at decay and reconstruction, the healing power of art and the life cycle of creativity. Mixing references from traditional Chinese garment design and pop culture, the brand reimagines clothing and footwear silhouettes that encourage evolution.
Also inspired by founder Li-Ning’s time as a highly decorated gymnast, the collection incorporates a multitude of Olympic themes and styles. Athletic apparel offerings include velour sweatsuits, cotton sweatsuits, ribbed knitwear and nylon pullovers that are washed in black, dusty peach and shades of blue. Black pinstripe wool slacks with a matching double-breasted blazer, a black double-breasted blazer and black and white color-blocking shirts serve to balance out the sporty looks.
In addition to apparel, footwear remains a focal point of the collection, utilizing modern outdoor-inspired silhouettes. Blending street fashion with all-terrain performance, the new Titan Boot introduces a “shoe within a shoe” design style, mixing a leather upper and a midsole infused with the brand’s BOOM cushioning technology. The X-Claw Ace has a hiking-inspired lacing system, rubber components and rugged lug sole, while other footwear options in the collection include the new Yun You model with a knit upper, the Furious Rider Ace 2 with metal cord detailing and the Super Light Ace with a leather and suede upper.
Li-Ning’s FW21 collection will be available in November on the brand’s website and with select retailers.
