Land Rover Range Rover‘s flagship model is approaching its 52nd birthday, and now the fifth generation Range Rover has officially been unveiled. Coming in a dazzling number of specifications and iterations that are set to include everything from a pure-electric version coming in 2024 to PHEV models and, of course, a range of V8 specs that will include an SV offering, the new RR is the British marque’s final word in sophistication and luxury — as it has been for over half a century.

Available in SE, HSE, and Autobiography models, as well as a limited-run “First Edition” version that will be available for just one year and comes in an exclusive “Sunset Gold Satin” hue — alongside five other colors on offer — the new RR will come in short-wheel-base and long-wheel-base shapes with seats for up to seven or as little as four for the ultimate level of luxury.

As for the design itself, it’s quintessentially Range Rover, only refined. The falling roofline, strong waistline, and rising sill line remain a hallmark of its commanding aesthetic, while elements such as the rear end now come with a boat tail look and a contemporary rear light set-up, harnessed by the much-favored split tailgate. All around you’ll find exterior components made flush with the body for a more refined look, while rims now go up to 23” for a car that proffers presence. Jewel-like LED headlights redefine the front end, the windows are almost flush with the D-pillars and sills to give the SUV a floating roof illusion that overhangs at the rear for a small, yet subtly sporty, roof wing. Combined, this new model is the most aerodynamically efficient luxury SUV in the world.

Of course, the SV models are the RRs of choice. Coming with either a 530PS twin-turbo V8 or as a 510PS plug-in hybrid, these models will include heightened craftsmanship and greater functionality. For example, ceramic controls and veneers feature inside, while the SV badge will also be made from ceramic for an extra luxurious touch.

All models will come with a 13.1” curved floating glass touchscreen in the front controlling the entirety of the infotainment on offer — which is beyond extensive — while a 13.7” Interactive Driver Display is also included for all your driving information. Elsewhere, an optional 1,600W Meridian Signature Sound System with noise cancellation can be specced, Amazon Alexa comes as standard, and in the back, passengers have an eight-inch controller to manage their surroundings.

As expected, the list of features, capabilities, functions, specifications, and customer personalization goes on. To understand the car in even more depth, head over to the Range Rover website and configurator to design your own. It is due to release in various iterations sometime in 2022, with an all-electric version coming in 2024, and will cost from £94,400 GBP in the U.K. (approximately $130,000 USD).

Elsewhere in the automotive world, HYPEBEAST recently test-drove the E-Type UK Unleashed.
