KRAKATAU’s FW21 Collection Is Inspired by Cryogenics
Utilizing the thermal conductivity of carbon, the far-infrared radiation of coffee shells and more.
For the Fall/Winter 2021 season, KRAKATAU stays in tune with its “antagonist survival kit” slogan through a new collection inspired by cryogenics. In the new collection, the brand utilizes the thermal conductivity of carbon, the far-infrared radiation of coffee shells and the insulation capabilities of recycled plastic.
Coming in concrete gray, rust, ice blue, lime green, navy and black, the offering features a variety of outerwear pieces including parkas, puffer jackets, nylon shell jackets and more. With an emphasis on facing the elements, the collection’s SYCAMORE jackets feature water-resistant capabilities, while the AITKEN down jackets include a natural insulation and recycled plastic fill. A collection highlight is the CRYOGEN jackets that are padded with a vacuum heat insulating material and a layer of carbon nanotubes. At the push of a button, the carbon layer of the jacket can be activated by the built-in portable battery, providing extra heat.
Topping off the collection are several accessories, which conclude waist bags that convert into backpacks, hats, neck warmers and merino wool gloves.
