Elton John Joins Forces With Young Thug and Nicki Minaj on New Song "Always Love You"
Fans finally get to listen to the unexpected collab.
In the world of the most unexpected music collaborations, Elton John has just debuted his most recent project featuring Young Thug and Nicki Minaj.
Prior to the release of his new album The Lockdown Sessions, Elton John announced the track list. Fans were elated to see the many collaborations he has in store, with his current lead single “Cold Heart” with Dua Lipa topping the charts. Now, fans get a chance to listen to another highly-anticipated track, this time featuring Young Thug and Nicki Minaj.
John commented on the collaborative track stating, “This was one of two songs I wrote the first day I spent in the studio with Andrew Watt, but it began its life as very much an Elton John song and I didn’t really like it, it needed something.” He continued to discuss how Watt was able to rearrange the song and “placed on a track that a rapper would use…That’s when we got Young Thug involved. I’ve admired Young Thug for a while and he sampled one of my songs on his track, “High,” back in 2018 so it was great to collaborate again.”
The legendary artist also went into detail about how he felt about the Nicki Minaj feature sharing, “I was so pleased when Nicki agreed to do it. I’m very grateful to have such talented artists from a totally different genre to me on this album and that they’ve included me.”
