Kevin Feige Shares Plans for 'Black Panther 2' Following Chadwick Boseman's Death
The Wakandan king will not be recast nor recreated in CG.

President of Marvel, Kevin Feige has shared some insight into some of the plans the studio has for Black Panther 2, following Chadwick Boseman‘s untimely death.
Last month, Feige confirmed that Boseman’s character T’Challa will not be recast, but production for Black Panther‘s sequel is showing no signs of stopping. Feige hasn’t disclosed too many details of the upcoming project yet, but he did mention that new characters and other areas of Wakanda seen in the comics will be introduced in the sequel: “Wakanda is a place to further explore with characters and different subcultures. This was always, and initially, the primary focus of the next story.” While mentioning that there will be no CG Chadwick, Feige explained how the film’s director Ryan Coogler is currently working on the script and a story that further explores the world of Wakanda. “There’s also the task of honoring and respecting the ongoing learnings and teachings from Chad as well,” said Feige.
Black Panther 2 is set to begin filming this summer.
In case you missed it, Disney+ has added a Chadwick Boseman tribute to Black Panther‘s opening credits.
