adidas Celebrates the History of Jacquard With ZX 5000 "Vieux Lyon"
An eye-catching installment in the A-ZX series.

adidas has continued its A-ZX series of releases with the arrival of its ZX 5000 “Vieux Lyon” sneaker. The new take on the silhouette takes its name from the city of Lyon, where the Jacquard weaving technique was invented. Referencing this history, the ZX 5000 “Vieux Lyon” celebrates craftsmanship, design and innovation.
The sneaker features an all-over woven custom Jacquard upper in two colors. A muted gray color wraps around the heel and toebox of the sneaker, with a dark purple section around the ankle and across the tongue. This upper is finished with custom lace jewels, pink Three Stripe branding and sockliners declaring “La Marque Aux 3 Bandes,” the French translation of adidas’ classic “The Brand with the Three Stripes” slogan. This upper sits atop the ZX 5000’s signature sole unit.
