'Resident Evil' Reboot to Reportedly Premiere September 2021
The forthcoming title will serve as an origin story of CAPCOM’s 1996 game.

The forthcoming reboot of Resident Evil is reportedly scheduled to premiere on September 9, 2021.
According to sources, the website of Constantin Film listed the live-action film’s release date. The Munich-based production and distribution company produced all six films of Paul W.S. Anderson’s take on the franchise, and it will be responsible for the upcoming title’s distribution in German-speaking territories as well.
Resident Evil is supposedly the first of six in the reboot franchise and will serve as an origin story for CAPCOM‘s 1996 game. The cast includes Kaya Scodelario as Claire Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Valentine, Robbie Amell as Chris Redfield, Tom Hopper as Albert Wesker, Avan Jogia as Leon S. Kennedyand Neal McDonough as William Birkin. Johannes Roberts has written and directed the film and is joined by producer Robert Kulzer, James Harris, Hartley Gorenstein, Martin Moszkowicz, Victor Hadida, Alex Westmore and Colin Scully.
Elsewhere in entertainment, Jared Leto shared that he’s open to reprising his role as Joker.
