Watch Big Sean's New Music Video for "Lithuania" Featuring Travis Scott
Celebrating the launch of ‘Detroit 2’ with a brand new visual.
Big Sean‘s latest album Detroit 2 launched earlier today and it hasn’t disappointed, not just because of the star-studded tracklist. At 32 years old, Big Sean tapped back in with his native city for the project and delivered a cohesive and introspective 18-tracks (with three surprising interludes throughout.) To celebrate the album launch, the rapper delivered his latest music video for his song “Lithuania” featuring Travis Scott.
“Lithuania” was produced by Hit-Boy and Audio Anthem and plays more overtly to what Travis does so well — bring his auto-tuned melodies over hypnotic and semi-hallucinatory instrumentals. Still, Sean waxes about just how far he’s come, having reached a status where he can debate whether he needs to actually go through mandated baggage claim or not. In the video, he free-falls in an elevator while there’s some references to Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining in the hotel hallways. The song is poised to be a mega-hit given Travis excelling at what he does and a particular beat-drop around the 1:35 mark.
“Lithuania” follows the recently released “Harder Than My Demons” and the album trailer that served as a video for “Don Life” (just without the Lil Wayne feature). In terms of cultivating memorable moments on the project, the Travis collaboration is definitely among the top. Sean also connected 10 of his favorite Detroit emcees for “Friday Night Cypher” — then there were the high-profile “Story” interludes by Dave Chappelle, Erykah Badu and Stevie Wonder.
