Big Sean announced his next full-length album Detroit 2 back in March, signaling that the follow-up to his 2012 mixtape would be arriving via GOOD Music and Def Jam Recordings by year’s end. The nearly three-minute trailer featured a snippet for the song “Don Life,” and today he’s returned with a new music video for the song (but not the song in its entirety) as Lil Wayne‘s guest verse is left off at the end.

Sean tapped Detroit filmmaker Jerry Production (one of hip-hop’s busiest directors on YouTube and an integral part in helping put that city’s talent on the map) and there’s even a surprise appearance from fellow Detroit artist Sada Baby during the grainy black and white cut. Hit-Boy and Young Thug are also confirmed contributors on the upcoming album, while there were some Kanye West vocal loops in the previous trailer as well. Earlier this week, Big Sean dropped “Deep Reverence”, a collaboration with the late Nipsey Hussle.

“8 years ago I did this wit the 1st Detroit mixtape where I previewed a few song wit short visuals, so it’s only right we run it back,” Big Sean wrote on Twitter while premiering the song. He also dropped a few more details during his album trailer. “I’ve been going back listening to music that impacted me growing up, you know, songs I hear on the radio every day but I didn’t even realize was only popping in Detroit. It feels like a whole new energy in the city, you know? It’s inspiring to watch — to the point it inspired me to go harder than ever. It’s like the phoenix rising out the ashes.”
