New 'Assassin's Creed Valhalla' Story Trailer Showcases The Legacy of Eivor
A story of conquests and family drama.
Ubisoft debuted a new story trailer for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, delving into the legacy of the dual-gendered protagonist Eivor. The trailer above showcases how Eivor became a legendary Viking and the implications of what will drive the plot along. Evior and their clan are driven from Norway due to lack of resources and an ongoing war, leaving up to the protagonist to carve out a new settlement for their clan and a place in the Kingdom of England. Footage also showcases how Evior’s position as a leader interferes with them and their family. The game will take players through the conquering of the Vikings, while also introducing prominent figures from the era, such as the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok and King Aelfred.
According to the video’s official description:
“Driven from Norway by endless wars and dwindling resources in ninth century AD, players will lead Eivor’s clan of Norsemen across the icy North Sea to the rich lands of England’s broken kingdoms. Players must carve out a new future for their clan, reliving the ruthless fighting style of Viking warriors with a revamped combat system that includes the ability to dual-wield weapons against a greater variety of enemies than ever before. To secure resources, players can lead raids to select locations using their longship to earn much-needed riches and supplies. As the Vikings begin to settle in their new home, they encounter resistance from the Saxons, including King Aelfred of Wessex, who denounces them as heathens and looks to be the sole ruler of a civilized England. Against all odds, Eivor must do what is necessary to keep Valhalla within reach.”
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla hits PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One on November 10.
