Wood Wood FW20 Gives Traditional Outerwear a New Twist
An exploratory approach inspired by Jules Verne’s ‘Voyages Extraordinaires.’
After unveiling its collaboration with Disney, Copenhagen-based label Wood Wood returns with a new lookbook for the Fall/Winter 2020 season. Inspired by Jules Verne’s Voyages Extraordinaires, the collection revolves around an outdoor aesthetic and the notion of exploration. The design team at Wood Wood explores Verne’s depiction of the Earth and the surrounding universe, creating an evocative sportswear collection that utilizes a variety of utilitarian and practical elements.
Merging the traditional with the explorational, the collection reimagines outerwear styles for both men and women. Natural, earthy tones and hand-drawn prints complement the textured and patterned apparel, while hand-knitted garments arrive in seasonal hues. Highlights of the collection include pieces made up of brushed wools and heavyweight twills, as well as cozy vests, work shirts and trousers. Elsewhere, oversized blazers come with matching pants, and flannels and knits serve as cold-weather layering pieces. Rounding off the seasonal range is an all-weather arctic parka designed for any voyage ahead.
