RAM's 2021 1500 TRX Pickup Packs 702 Horsepower With a Towing Capacity of 8,100 Pounds
Designed to be a Ford F-150 Raptor killer.
Fiat Chrysler‘s expert truck division RAM has just unveiled its latest 2021 model for the 1500 TRX, a pickup designed to take the Ford F-150 Raptor head on.
Now equipped with a massive 6.2-liter Supercharged HEMI V8, the TRX can push out a whopping 702 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque, giving it a 0-60 mph time of just 4.5 seconds and a quarter-mile timing of 12.9 seconds at 108 mph, an impressive feat for a truck this hefty. All that power output translates to a towing capacity of 8,100 pounds and a payload capacity of 1,310 pounds, making the new RAM as practical as it is fun to drive. Other upgrades also give its performance a welcome boost, including a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, a new high-strength steel frame, an independent suspension system with active damping, and a Dana 60 solid rear axle.
Now available, the 2021 RAM 1500 TRX will begin at $71,690 USD. A TRX Launch Edition will also be available, which includes every option available as well as a unique Anvil Gray paint job, and will go for $90,265 USD.
Elsewhere in the automotive world, the 2021 Ford GT Heritage Edition pays tribute to its 1966 Daytona victory.
